Sometimes They Just Need to Paint

Sometimes you wake up

And it's just a fonky day

And the girl whines

And the boy cries

And then you cry...to your sweet husband. And you take his advice so neither one of you feel helpless.

Then when his advice works.

There is a smidgen of peace (30 minutes).

There is food.

There is breath that is calm.

And so after snack

It's time to paint.

Turn on some G-Love Pandora.

Let them do what they want without retrain

That is so good for them

It is so good for you

To see them create, focus, mess with such purpose

Because maybe momma was way too bossy and too loud and yelling this morning.

But momma is better and can once again give.

Grace works wonders.

So I hope sometimes you paint, they paint. You bake, they color. You read, they watch TV.
Whatever it may be.

Have a great weekend!

    1. Thanks Laura!
Groovy groovy stuff - maybe a few sounds are edgy but I just love "Milk and Sugar" for an early morning start!

It was so good to have some "work-mode" silence for us all. So good. :)

  3. I'm doing this, like right now, including the G Love station! So glad I have such a lovely person to copycat. I actually got out the canvases this morning, so thanks for the reminder! And maybe I can get that crazy kitchen under control. I'm perusing for pregnancy update pics... ;) happy saturday Mama.

    1. You're too sweet! Painting is just so therapeutic. There was so much harmony and peace and grace after we had this time. I hope with all of me that it helped your "Friday"
Oh I am so not a belly photo taker - but I can do a couple for the weekend. Maybe a WIWS? Maybe, if I'm brave ;-)

      Happy Saturday!

    1. Mmmm. Thanks. They are so scrumptious to me! I just hate when I yell and break their little hearts - I feel like such a parent fail. But confession and grace, eh? Totally copying J Fulwiler and started telling kids "I love you and I love Jesus and I'm doing the best I can right now" and then, of course, I apologize and we have some cuddles.
